My Shop Has Moved!
I had to move my website due to the difficulty of finding a specific shop on Etsy and the cost of Artfire. If you want things done right, do it yourself, right? So you can find all of my items for sale at AmberElyse Handmade, my shop. Be patient as I add items, I have had to recreate all of my descriptions, prices, and checkout style. I could not find any way to simply transfer everything over. Keep checking back for new, fabulous toys and accessories!

Working on the Business End of Things
I've been listening/watching to some videos about the CTMP theory of building your business. Very interesting stuff. It is the first time that I have really understood why you want to target your one group of people, or your niche. I always kind of thought that it would be selling out to pick a target audience and gear your product towards them, but after doing some research I feel like slapping myself in the head for not going with it a long time ago. Of course, there's a lot more to it than that. I've learned a ton from handmaderesults.com. It's gotten me thinking about actually having a business. I think previous to this I've wanted to sell my stuff, but I hadn't wrapped my head around the thought of having my own business. Now I'm super excited. Will keep everyone posted when my ideas are more goal oriented and focused. Biggest advice was to take these beginning steps slow, not to rush it. The beginning planning stage is the foundation and if it is weak it will crumble. So I'm going to try to go about this in a way that will hopefully have me working from home in a few years. Who knows. Wish me luck!

Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI was just sitting in my bed - I'm sick as a dog, reading my emails and on a whim I did a search for my name and I found you:)
Thanks for mentioning my Handmade Results article. I'm so pleased it's opened your eyes. So many people have such high hopes for their Etsy shop...
Anyway, just wanted to let you know I saw your posts and I wish you luck.
(P.S. - I don't want this comment to be "salesy" but I'm offering a $1 trial for my online jewelry business course- just in case you didn't get an email about it- it was for mailing list members only)
Christine, thankyou for writing. I appreciate that. I do find your website very helpful. I will continue to check it for more useful information. When I am ready to take on a website with more vigor I will take one of your courses. As you can see by the 4 month lapse since your comment, I haven't had time. Keep up the good work!
